Clean Sweep
In the spring of 2023, a man named Sweep had a plan.
It was, by most objective measures, a beautiful plan. He was going to move to the Philippines. He was going to be with his wife. He was going to live a peaceful life far from the noise, the chaos, and the specific energy of San Diego, California, which had been giving him problems for several years.
He bought a ticket. He packed his things. He said his goodbyes. He did not say goodbye to ICE because he did not think that was necessary.
It was, in retrospect, necessary.
On October 26, 2023 — Subject ID: 8654310, Booking Date: 10-26-2023, Location: San Diego, CA — Sweep was Deported by ICE. Back to the United States. Back to the country he had just left. Back to the beginning, but this time with significantly more paperwork.
Here is the part they don't put in the news:
His wife came with him.
She packed a bag. She got on a plane. She said, essentially, "where you go, I go, even if where you go is back to San Diego because of a federal agency." That is love. That is the kind of love that doesn't require a destination, a plan, or a successful immigration outcome. That is the kind of love that shows up in the mugshot era and stays.
And here's the best part — they didn't have to spend all that money on visas, relocation fees, international shipping, or whatever they charge to store a man's belongings in Manila while the government figures out his paperwork. ICE handled the return trip. Sweep is home. His wife is home. Together. In America. Involuntarily, but together.
This shirt commemorates the whole journey. The plan. The departure. The booking date. The happy ending nobody saw coming, least of all Sweep.

Wear it proud. Wear it loud. Wear it as proof that sometimes the universe has a plan better than yours, and sometimes that plan involves a federal holding facility and a one-way flight home to the woman who followed you anyway.
Clean Sweep. Deported by ICE. Loved by one. Home at last.
